What is Coaching?
“…ADHD coaching helps to build skills and take action. Good coaching definitely helps people to improve their business focus, interpersonal skills and ability to get things done in such a way as to lead a more productive, fulfilling and rewarding life.”
Edward Hallowell, MD
People reach out to coaches for a variety of reasons. We can become overwhelmed with a task or project, lots of life can happen all at once, or we may struggle with academics and social situations. Coaching is not therapy, and is often a great complement to the therapeutic process. What we will work on is breaking that task or project into manageable steps, noticing where you feel success and what works best for you, then apply those skills to other areas of your life. For a student, we may learn about your best daily rhythm to allow you to complete your work efficiently, allowing for the free time you crave. For an adult, we will work together to find those areas of growth and opportunity to help you achieve your goals and live a more balanced life. With ADHD, resources will be shared to support your attention needs.
Coaching Sessions
Coaching is a minimum three month commitment. We will start with an intake process where we will learn more about each other and what your goals are in coaching. Our sessions will be weekly for 30 minutes and you will check in with me between our sessions. Additional sessions are also available as needed with the client, teachers or parents.
